Gratitude Monday --In The Game

The Edmonton Eskimos are on their way to the Western Final.
They beat The Stampeders yesterday to earn the berth.
The Eskimos haven't been in a playoff game in years.
Whatever else happens, I am grateful that
a)they made it to the quarter-final
b)they won the quarter-final
c)the reign of error of former coach Danny Maciocia is over. He's probably a fine human being, but he was in over his head as a CFL coach.

Go Esks!

I am rereading your bio.
I LOVE what you say.
My life is simple, too.

Carla, thank you so much. Simple sentences for a simple existence. An uncomplicated life is the best.

Hear me cheering as I read your post. I wasn't able to get the game and didn't know the result!
CHEER!

Go, Esks!

Thank you for understanding that being lousy at doing something doesn't reflect on whether you are a good person or not. So many sports fans take the criticism of ability in that one area and generalize and personalize it too much.

Dawn, another Esks fan. Yay!

Messymimi, it is so easy to write off a human being for messing up in one aspect of life. It is also easy to forget the person we denigrate is a human being first and foremost.
If we get promoted to our level of incompetence, then at least we've stretched and tried.

Sending the cigs today. Hopefully they will be there in time for a victory smoke.

Oh goody, we can admit gratitude for sporting events? The SF Forty-niners (US football) are finally looking good after years of hapless losses. Go Niners!

Go Edmonton!

Betty, that sounds just wonderful. I'm looking forward to them.

Crabby, oh Hellz yeah. Go 49ers!

Yay! Laurita. Thanks.

I'll wish your Esks well, but suspect they might over their heads against a stubborn Winnipeg or fired-up Hamilton in the Grey Cup.

Maybe next year, my pitiful Argos will rise from the ashes of ineptitude....

Thanks, Frank.

I'm happy either way in the eastern final as I like both teams. I'll always think of the Blue Bombers as a western team, though. As to the Grey Cup, I want the Esks in it.
I hope you get your wish for the Argos.

Go, Esks! Wouldn't it be lovely if they got into the finals!?

Bag Lady, it would be the best.
