Me, Active

Snowshoeing on a bright winter day.

I got out for a bit of exercise and fresh air the other day. Some friends were down for the weekend and we spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at Jackfish Lake west of Rocky. We enjoyed the gift of a glorious, bright, warm day and hard, crusty snow to go snowshoeing on the lake.
Alas, I couldn't go very far, but I still did it.
As you can see the snowshoes did their jobs well and we hardly sank at all.

Good for you!

I hear snowshoeing is great exercise, and it looks like you picked a pretty day for it. Sounds like you're well on the road to recovery after your recent medical "adventures." Hope the ticker is behaving itself and that you'll soon be back to all your normal activities. And I know the weather hasn't been exactly cooperative this winter.

Crabby, snowshoeing is wonderful exercise and it was a magnificent day to be out.

The ticker has been misbehaving a bit and was beating too fast, thanks for asking. I've had to increase the meds and will have a reboot sometime in the future.
That said, I feel great and have plenty of energy.

Glad the snowshoes did their job. Gladder still the ice was still solid. Much, much gladder that you are still feeling fine in spite of an increased heartbeat (and meds).

Thanks, Reb. There's a certain irony in feeling the best ever while apparently being ill.

Wow! I've read so many times that snowshoeing is one of the biggest calorie burners out there. That's great!

Thanks, Scrumpy's Baker.

It really looks beautiful out there. Sadly, we don't get a lot of snow very often (except when it's the edge of a freak blizzard that buries everything north of here but only gives us a couple feet - and that's pretty rare).

It really is, Michael.

Looks like a wonderful day. I'm glad you had that opportunity to enjoy it. I also think you should have some wild animal print on your sunglass/goggles too. ;)

Hello Hilary - Yes, it was wonderful day.
If I ever find wild enough sunglasses I'll buy them.
