Friday Frolic

We're off to the woods for a few days.

Here's something cute to tide you over.

These videos feature Golden-Mantled Groundsquirrels. You may recognize one of the stars as the critter who adorns my blog header.

We'll resume regular programming on Monday.

Until then, enjoy the squirrels.

Must hide these videos from the cat, it will give her ideas!

Almost every place I've ever lived or visited has had some sort of squirrel, but they always look a bit different. Love those regional variations.

Adorable critter and well captured. Is it a regional thing? I would refer to it as a chipmunk but being a city girl, I would probably be wrong.

dfLeah - so cute! Hard to capture the little critters on film - they move so darned fast - but you did a great job.
I almost posted a squirrel video today, too, but there wasn't nearly as much squirrel in it - mostly dog trying to whine and dine (whine the squirrel out of tree in order to dine upon it....)

Musn't give the cat ideas!

They look similar to chipmunks, Hilary. These critters are bigger and the markings are slighlty different, though. They are regional though not restricted to here, I think.

dfBag Lady - Thanks. It was fun doing it and the little guys put on quite a show for us.
